Mary and Jeff Bell Library
REMOTE ACCESS TO DATABASES
Remote access to Bell Library databases is available for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students, faculty, and staff only. In order to access databases from off campus you must have a valid record in our library system. All records are re-validated at the beginning of each semester. Students, faculty, and staff attempting to access databases from off campus will be prompted for a user name and login identification number. Your name must be entered as it appears on your university records.
To verify your remote access user name and password
- Open any internet browser, go to the library homepage http://rattler.tamucc.edu, mouse over the Find heading, and click on MyAccount.

- Click on My Library Account

- Type in your name and Student ID number. Then, click Submit.
-
The displayed name must be used when accessing library databases and electronic reserves from off campus. In this case, the user name would be John Doe. If John had a middle name--for example John Bob--in his record, then the user name would be John Bob Doe.
- If your name does not appear in our database, or if you are unable to determine your valid user name, please contact the Circulation Desk at (361) 825-2340.
Known issues:
- AOL 7.0 Browser does not work with the remote access to the Bell Library Electronic Resource. You will need to update to AOL 8.0 or above.
- If your name is longer than 25 letters contact the Circulation desk at (361) 825-2340 for modifications.
Users before August 2003: You no longer need to activate the proxy server on your browser to access Bell Library Databases remotely.
